Born in the heart of Manhattan, Beverly (Bevani) moved from New York City to Seattle where she commenced her flute studies at the age of seven. Hailed by critics as possessing a "bold sound and angelic presence", she now holds a Masters degree in performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied with Jill Felber, during which she served as her teaching assistant. Her Bachelor of music degree with Departmental Honors in Performance is from the University of Puget Sound, where she studied with Karla Flygare.
In May 2011, her group Silver Trio, was a semi-round winner at the Fischoff National Chamber Competition, with a performance at Notre Dame University. She is also the winner of the prestigious National Flute Convention 2007 Masterclass Performer’s Competition in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beverly is a concerto competition winner with the Seattle Symphony Youth Orchestra, the University of Puget Sound, and the University of California Santa Barbara. In each instance, she gave acclaimed solo performances.
In addition to her academic and musical studies, Beverly completed a four-year program at the Northwest School of Healing, from which she emerged a Reiki master. Beverly uses her understanding of her energy system to prepare herself when performing.
Beverly is currently Vice President of the Seattle Flute Society and a private flute teacher in the greater Seattle area. She can be heard soloing with several bands around town. Her musical interests include, folk, jazz, new age, classical and native flute.
